The error behind most disappointing first tests

• Pick an ordinary post you will not edit for a day.
• Pick one that has already stopped gathering attention on its own.
• Write down the figure and the time before ordering.
• Check once from a signed out browser after the window closes.

Reading the outcome

If the two numbers differ by roughly what you expected, the route works. Whether a larger figure would change how the post performs is a separate question, and one a post with weak retention answers badly at any scale.
